Every movement begins with a story — one of courage, faith, and the determination to turn pain into purpose. For Natalia Escobar, that story began the day she was diagnosed with breast cancer. What could have been a chapter of fear and uncertainty became the beginning of a powerful mission — one rooted in hope, resilience, and love. Through every treatment, every sleepless night, and every moment of doubt, Natalia found strength not only in herself but in the countless women walking the same difficult path. She realized that no one should ever have to face this journey alone.
Her experience lit a fire in her heart — a calling to serve, to lead, and to create a community where every woman is seen, supported, and empowered. From that vision, the Martha Breast Cancer Foundation (MBCF) was born. Today, as Director and Founder of MBCF, Natalia leads with grace, empathy, and unwavering determination, transforming her personal battle into a movement that uplifts others. Her mission is clear and powerful: to save lives and uplift communities through education, early detection, patient support, and wellness advocacy.
Natalia’s leadership reflects the belief that compassion can be just as healing as medicine — and that awareness can save lives long before diagnosis ever begins. Under her guidance, MBCF has become a beacon of hope across Miami-Dade County and the City of Homestead, offering women access to critical resources, mentorship, and community support regardless of income, background, or circumstance.
Together with Brooklyn Basketball Academy (BBA Miami), Natalia and her team are bringing awareness, strength, and unity to the forefront of South Florida’s fight against breast cancer. Their shared commitment bridges education, wellness, and community empowerment — building a foundation of hope for future generations. Natalia’s journey reminds us all that healing is not only personal — it’s collective. Every survivor becomes a light for those still fighting. The Martha Breast Cancer Foundation (MBCF) is a community-based program under the Brooklyn Basketball Academy (BBA Miami) nonprofit organization. Established in Miami-Dade County and the City of Homestead, MBCF stands as a pillar of hope, education, and empowerment for women facing breast cancer. In partnership with BBA Miami — an organization dedicated since June 2020 to building healthier, stronger communities through sports, wellness, and leadership development — MBCF expands this vision by focusing on women’s health and breast cancer awareness.
MBCF works to bridge the gap between awareness and action, providing free and affordable health education, wellness programs, support groups, community events, and access to essential care for underserved populations. The foundation embodies compassion, resilience, and community unity, making it the heart and face of breast cancer awareness in Miami-Dade County and Homestead, Florida.
